Festive Decorating: fairy lights

As I haven't really had enough time to put up the Christmas tree, both int he living room and my room, I've decided to to with what I can, a second post to follow with trees and things.

My best idea: Fairy lights! Look amazing, yet cozy stylishly thrown over some cushions or a fire place, mine, £1.80 for 20 from tescos, are along the top of my best, kept on by red ribbon.

Even though, in earlier years, it's been February before I've found good room-worthy decorations, I love these and I think, they're perfect for book-reading before bed, or lying watching youtube gift guides during the day.

Another thing that they look amazing with, and my favourite trend this year, tartan!
Add an extra layer of cosy in these long winter nights waiting for Christmas. I picked up these tartan bed sheets from primary. Pillow case and duvet cover for £12. A bargain if you ask me. And although they are braised cotton, and not your average comfy, they are perfect for keeping you warm and looking fabulous!

What's trending : A Bold Lip

My five top bold lipsticks are.......

(Top left to botton right)

Rimmel Kate moss lipstick -107
Topshop lipstick - screen siren
Barry M Lip paint -121
Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain -crush
Mac lipstick- impassioned

If I've decided to go natural on the brows I'll go bold on the lips and these are my favourite.
A dark red, a magenta red, classic red, plum and hot pink are all I need in my bold lipstick collection

What's trending?: Big Brows

Thanks to care delevingne (who I absoloutly love) big brows where and have been one of the biggest trends this year. And if you like me and you brows are very sparse and hard to see, I have found away to make those brows look a little bit bolder.
Before....(Sorry a stole a pic from my last post but I hadn't filled them in)
...after
All I did to achieve bigger and bolder brows was combed through with a spoole, filled them in with the maybelline master shape brow pencil in dark blond, following by natural brow shape, and then set them with the maybelline brow drama sculpting brow mascara .
I think that the thing to remember is, don't think 'bigger brows means darker' as they will look unnatural, keep to a colour that is right for you and fill them in a bit heavier handed and the look will be achieved.

I love this trend with a natural eye as it's faff-free and you can go bold on the lips.

Easy Eyeshadow look

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but today as a quick Sunday post I decided to do a quick and easy eyeshadow look! hope you like it x

This literally took 2 minutes and 3 eye shadows
First I used stila bubble bath  from the luxe shadow palette and 'swooshed' it all over the eye, right up to the brow bone. Then I took a little bit of kiko eye shadow in 123, great name I know, on a mac 217 and applied to the crease, and just below  the lash line, just to define the bone and crease. This eye shadow is a lovely highly pigmented taupe so perfect for defining.

To add a bit of fun to the look, form the stila palette, I used love of the ocean on a small angled brush and pressed in onto the lash, in a slight wing. This is a dark shimmery blue that only showed up a little colour on the lid, to add a bit of colour.

Hope you enjoyed this post and the look x

My Evening Skincare Routine #1

I thought as a quick mid-week post, I would do a night time skincare routine post!

First I use the l'oreal micellar water to remove my eye makeup, but holding it over my eyes and pressing down for 10 seconds. Then, in the shower, I wash if the rest of my makeup with the soap and glory peaches and clean. I really love both these products to remove my makeup and leave my skin so soft and very clean. Even though the micellar water has a toner in it, I'd rather use an extra one as well, I've been using the no. 7 toner, but I really want to buy the pixi glow tonic!

After popping on a couple of dots of the soap and glory dr. Spot, I use the no.7 protect and perfect serum.  My favourite night cream of the moment has been the Clinique moisture surge moisturiser and eye cream as its just so soft and creamy to put on.

That is all I use but I am really looking to put more effort into finding stuff that really works. There are certainly many many products I want to try so there will definitely be updates of this post!

Barry m : gelly hi-shine nail paint REVIEW

Now it has to be said. I really don't have the best nails/ hands in the world! ( I'm a nail biter) and I am at school 5 days a week so the only time I really paint my finger nails is on holiday. Tough having said that, I always have nails polish on my toes.

Recently in boots I finally got round to picking up the Barry m belly nail polishes! I picked up the three colours in blood orange, plum and pomegranate. They are all personally autumnal colour to me. But my favourite would have to be blood orange.

Blood orange :a true red with orange undertones.
Plum: dark almost black purple
Pomegranate: a true deep dark pink

I hate using the normal nail polishes as they are far too watery for me,  But as these were thicker they are perfect.  I will certainly be using and buying these again. There are so many colour in the range and I can honestly say I would buy and wear them all.

The retail at £3.99 and are currently on offer at boots for buy one get one half price!

See you soon, byeeee xxx

Brushless- makeup look

After taking inspiration from one of viviannadoesmakeup's videos, I  decided that I would also do a brushless look, a slightly different style.

First I used a little bit if mac's face and body foundation in N1 and rubbed it in to my face in an upwards motion using my fingertips. Then using one pump I dotted the bourjois bb bronzing cream in a 3 movement on each side of my face.  I find this product a bit oily and patchy for my skin, but a good cream bronzer for contouring.  A little swirl of revlon photo ready cream blush in pinched and that was face done.

On to eyes: first I just put on a bit of the Clinique chubby stick for eyes in ample amber over the benefit eye primer, stay don't stray. This combination really work for me as if I don't use the eye primer, the colour will be gone in 3 hours.  Then I lined my upper lash line with the maybelline master precise liquid liner pen. After curling my lashes it was time for mascara I used LancĂ´me hypnose on the upped lashes, and maybelline great lash on the bottom. Lastly on my eyebrows I used the new maybelline brow drama brow mascara in dark blond. I think this product is a great one, and especially as it is the only one of its kind in the drugstore.

I hope you like this makeup look and send me pictures of you versions to me twitter @just_lucyx and the #brushlessmakeuplook

See you all soon, and don't forget to comment with any suggestions for products that you love x

Soap and Co mineral peeling gel review

After being whisked in to sakare shop in seven dials, covent garden, and after trying out the body scrub, butter, and mineral peeling gel, we ended up buying the peeling gel, and both my sister the same but with the scrub as well, we were all ecstatic with our purchases and couldn't wait to go home and try them for real.

Pricing could have been clearer with this product as they decided as opening day that I would get the peeling gel and mud soap ,RRP £15, for £25 ,RRP £65, and my two sisters would pay £100 for their goodies, £111, trying the scrub in the shop almost made me spend that amount of money, but I ended up with the better deal ,OVER 50%,

The first time I tried the product I instantly fell in love, you do end up feeling residue of dead skin, but it washes off easily, and the dead skin ended up peeling off, a very strange feeling. After moisturising, your skin is so so soft. The softest I have ever felt it. I will have to see if this product has any more benefits, but so far I love it.

If I was able to get a good deal, I would happily repurchase it again, but if is is stuck at the £65 price, I may have to put off buying, or look online for cheaper deals.

I an almost certain that you are not able to buy this product online, so if near a soap and co shop or any other stockists I would defiantly check out some more stuff from the range.

I hope that you enjoy reading the blog and feel free to comment, giving me suggestion on what to post about.
